Let's work together

Religious leaders on Kadavu have been urged to work with the Fiji Police Force and Government stakeholders in the fight against illegal activities on the island.

The plea was made by the Fiji Police Force Chaplain Reverend Superintendent of PoliceWaisale Tikowale during the Fiji Police’s Community Policing Awareness Outreach in Kadavu this past week with the theme “Railesuva Nomu I Tekitekivu’’.

The intent of the Outreach is to focus on educating and empowering the community of Kadavu to work together in eradicating the illegal cultivation of marijuana which has now become a major issue on the island.

Also part of the Awareness is the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs, Government Stakeholders in Kadavu, Kadavu Provincial Council representatives, various Church representatives for a holistic collaborative engagement approach to address issues of concern on the island.

Reverend Tikowale encouraged leaders of other church denominations to come forward and find ways of assisting the ongoing efforts in the elimination of drugs in Kadavu .

“I believe if we all play our part in this battle, drugs in Kadavu or any other areas in Fiji can be eliminated and that’s why am requesting all church elders here to please pray hard and put in place spiritual intervention for the betterment of our children”.

“Nothing is impossible and if God can work out things in his own ways for our betterment in the past, I don’t see any difficulties now and all we need is to support the good initiatives and plans put in place”.
