Australian Federal Police Commander Pacific - Commander Melinda Phelan visited the Fiji Police Force Police Command and Coordination Centre [PCCC] at the Totogo Police Station.
Commander Phelan was briefed on how Police operations were being coordinated at the Command Centre by the Officer in Charge of PCCC (OC/PCCC) Assistant Superintendent of Police (W/ASP) Aqela Tuirewa. The Operations Center was upgraded last year supported and co-funded by the AFP through training and capability development.
Commander Phelan also received an update on preparations towards the General Elections by the Chief of Operations Officer (COO), Assistant Commissioner of Police [ACP] Sakeo Ganivatu. Commander Phelan said "The partnership between the Fiji Police Force and the Australian Federal Police continues to strengthen over the years and will continue to do so in many more years to come".
She commended the FPF's aporiach to the way the Fiji Police condicts its operations partivularly in the planning process.
“I really love the way FPF is planning all this especially during the Pandemic and am grateful to hear from you as we learn from your experiences and would love to share all this back at home".
Commander Phelan was accompanied by Superintendent of Police Adrian Morton, Detective Sergeant Chris Burgess and Ms Vanessa Pardy.
The delegation also met with the Fiji Police Chief Administration Officer (CAO)Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abdul Khan and Chief Planning Internal Affairs Officer (CPIAO) ACP Aporosa Lutunauga.
