The Deputy Commissioner of Police Itendra Nair opened the one month Inspector Qualifying Course with a reminder that there was no limit to learning.
During the virtual opening, the Deputy Commissioner said modern day policing required an officer to broaden their knowledge beyond traditional policing as there were emerging threats and crimes that could pose a challenge to the criminal landscape.
DCP Nair said as middle managers and aspiring future leaders of the organization, a good leader will continuously work on developing themselves.
He reiterated the importance of leading by example.
“When we want to be leaders, there is no other concept better than leading by example.
You can’t demand things from others when you are not doing the very things you’re demanding others to do”, said DCP Nair.
The Inspector Qualifying Course is a four week program where participants will be engaged in Direct Flexible Learning from their respective Divisions for the first two weeks.
The last 2 weeks of the course will be conducted at the Fiji Police Academy.
