Suva Grammer Graduation Ceremony


“Education is important and we will be counting on you to develop and become our future economists, lawyers, medical professionals to name a few and it is a heavy responsibility that rests on your shoulders ’’.

Words of encouragement echoed by the Acting Chief of Planning and Internal Affairs Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga while officiating at the Suva Grammar School [SGS] Year 13 student’s graduation ceremony this morning.

One Hundred and forty five students today completed their secondary level before they pursue further with tertiary education ACP Lutunauga a former student of SGS reminded the senior students to remember those that have supported them through their journey.

“As you reminisce on the many challengers you have had to overcome, you should also look forward to the challenges that lie ahead, knowing that you have the skills and knowledge to meet them.”

“That is the power of education.

It turns you into a life long learner, it makes it possible to adapt, to grow and to do what you want would have thought impossible”.

With the school theme “The Year of Stepping Up”, ACP Lutunauga says he hopes that students will take up any challenge presented before them and commit to the task.

For nine months the students had to adapt to virtual classes.

The head of school Mr Iosefo Masivue while acknowledged the sacrifices and support made by student and urged them to prepare themselves into becoming strong and future leaders of tomorrow.

Headboy Gabriel Veigaunavinaka while delivering his key note address thanked all teachers and parents for their support.

Meanwhile Mendis Kaushali was named as DUX of the school also scooping the overall English, Maths, Physics, Computer Studies and Technical Drawing prizes.
