22nd Australasian Council of Women and Policing Excellence in Policing Awards


Senior Fijian Women Police officers inclusive of Directors, Superintendents of Police, Assistant Superintendents of Police and Inspectors attended the 22nd Australasian Council of Women and Policing Excellence in Policing Awards virtually on Friday night.

The Awards night were celebrated at host events across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific with senior members of the Fiji Police Force, the Australian Federal Police Liaison Officers based in Suva, New Zealand Police Senior Advisors and representatives from the New Zealand High Commission joining the virtual celebrations from the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

The Excellence in Policing Awards is an opportunity to recognize and acknowledge the achievements of women and men who are contributing to improving policing and law enforcement and ensuring policing services are enhanced for women.

The Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho acknowledged the support of the Australian Federal Police and New Zealand Police and Pacific Faculty of Policing for supporting Fiji and Pacific Policing efforts in advancing women in policing.

“As Chair of the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police – I reiterate my fellow Chief’s commitment and support towards the PICP Women’s Advisory Network in ensuring more meaningful partnerships between the respective Advisory Groups and their Chiefs”.

“Our commitment is unwavering, and we remain resolute in our shared understanding that if we make policing better for women, we make policing better".
