Fiberglass boat Handing over

The Fiji Police Force's maritime capabilities were boosted following the handing over of a fiberglass boat from Digicel Fiji Ltd.

The FPB Taveuni is the second fibreglass boat to be handed over by Digicel Fiji Ltd to the Fiji Police this year.

Receiving the second boat was the Deputy Commissioner of Police Itendra Nair who thanked Digicel Fiji Ltd for supporting the work of the Fiji Police Force.

Deputy Commissioner Nair said the Fiji Police are usually the first responders in any natural disaster or emergency situations and any assistance towards enhancing its ability to respond effectively to all situations is always appreciated.

He said the donation by Digicel Fiji Ltd will greatly assist operations in maritime islands noting the evolving and challenging criminal landscape.

The two boats handed over by Digicel Fiji Ltd are the FPB Taveuni and FPB Muaniweni.
