PINKTOBER PROGRAMS

Various programs and events were held this past week to commemorate PINKTOBER with the main focus on improving health as a preventative measure.

Visitations were conducted by Police officers to women who have fought or are battling cancer while physical activity programs were held to all aimed at enhancing cancer awareness.

Officers collected what they could to show that they were thinking of members living within their area of operations who had battled or are battling cancer as their way of commemorating PINKTOBER.

Officers from the Korovou Police Station visited 79-year old Luisa Soqo Sekikoeolevu of Nananu Village while a similar visitation was conducted by officers based at the Nakasi Police Station to cancer survivor Mrs Kumari Nand.

The visitations was also an opportunity for women officers to deepen their understanding and take the necessary preventative measures against a disease that has been labelled as the number one killer among women in the country.
