Constable Qualifying Course Closing

The Fiji Police Academy has recently resumed training programs following the easing of COVID-19 safe restrictions, and today saw 64 Police officers graduating from the Constable Qualifying Course.

Officiating at his first Police Graduation ceremony after returning from overseas studies in the United Kingdom, the Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho thanked the officers for the work conducted whilst he was away and in support of the Fijian Government's COVID containment and mitigation efforts.

The head of the Fiji Police Force called on the graduates to take advantage of the training and study opportunities available to develop their careers as they were young and had the potential to be great leaders.

Brig-General Qiliho reiterated the need to adopt a change of mindset in that a certain rank had to be attained before one could be considered a leader.

He said anyone who is given the responsibility to lead whether it be a Station, a Unit or a shift, is considered a leader.

The head of the Force said with any promotion in rank comes added responsibilities which the officers must prepare themselves for.

The Dux of the Course was awarded to Police Constable Preetika Devi, 2nd place to PC Mohammed Khan and 3rd place to PC Vinay Naidu.
