Digicel Assists Waterpol Unit

The Fiji Police WATERPOL Unit received a new fiber-glass boat to assist with maritime operations thanks to the support of mobile operators Digicel Fiji Ltd.

Digicel Fiji Ltd Chief Executive Officer Mr Fareed Mohammed yesterday handed the fiber-glass boat over to the Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu at the Royal Suva Yacht Club.

The FPB Muaniweni will be used to support COVID operations in monitoring borders, the conduct of search and rescue operations and support community policing in the conduct of island, village, settlement and hotel visitations.

The Acting Commissioner in thanking Digicel Fiji Ltd said the organization was grateful for the timely support noting the demands placed on Policing services.

A/CP Tudravu said through the Duavata Community Policing initiative, partnerships forged with organisations such as Digicel Fiji Ltd have greatly assisted operations of the Fiji Police Force.
