Fiji Police and Korean bilateral meeting


A preliminary discussions on framework for future police cooperation were part of discussion today between the organization and it's counterpart from Korea.

The Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu and team deliberated on local issues pertaining to policing that needs attention from the Korean National Police [KNP].

This includes training, joint investigation, information sharing and exchange under the INTERPOL platform and people to people exchanges.

A draft MOU were exchanged for comments by both parties prior to formalization .

KNP is a key dialogue partner under the ASEANPOL forum which Fiji is an observer thus the proposed formal arrangement is consistent with its intentions and objectives.

ASEANPOL is the grouping of police organizations in South East Asia and the organisation has been part of discussions on policies and strategies being put in place to address rising global policing challenges.
