Batch 03/20 Passout Parade

Three months of sacrifices and hard work have finally come to an end for the Basic Recruits Course Batch 03/20 following the Passing out Parade at the Nasova ground this morning.

The ceremony was officiated by the Minister for Defense, National Security and Policing Honorable Inia Seruiratu who thanked them for their patience, loyalty, and dedication for their years of service as Special Constables.

Members of the Diplomatic Corps, family members, friends, and relatives gathered in numbers to witness their loved ones.

Hon.Seruiratu while delivering his speech commended the hard work and sacrifices made by the recruits and congratulate them for being patience and quietly carrying on with their work as they waited for the opportunity to undergo the Basic Recruit Training.

“You have transited from the Special Constabulary to the Regular Force-which has now opened many doors and endless opportunities to advance your policing careers.

Doors that can help you live a comfortable life with an increased level of job security.

But most importantly doors that will give you the greatest satisfaction in the life of helping those in need” He adds for them not to lose sight of the fundamental ethics, values, and principles of policing.

“Keep them close to your heart, and you will have a long and prosperous career.

The opportunities available to you from this day onwards are endless.

But be warned all these opportunities can be taken away within a matter of seconds –because of one wrong decision.”

Hon. Seruiratu also reminded officers that their journey will not be a smooth one as there are challenges internally and externally and their loyalty to their profession will also be tested.

Meanwhile, Police Constable Marika Binatagi of Taveuni was awarded Commandant’s Book Prize while Women Police Constable Liliana Tara of Salevukoso in Macuata receives the Commissioner’s Book Prize.
