The first ever Bluelight camp at the Chevalier Training Center in Wainadoi concluded on Friday.
The Blue Light initiative specifically targets youth empowerment, through collaborative efforts with other stakeholders, to help youths understand their potential and responsibilities as future leaders.
The program had targeted youths who were school dropouts, street dwellers and from broken families.
In the five days camp, participants were able to undergo various topics such as Leadership training, Restorative Justice, Cyber Safety, Drugs ad sexual Offences.
They also had a chance to visit the Medium and Maximum Correction Centers and St. Giles hospital.
Invited Speakers were invited to raise awareness on key issues impacting youths and their future.
The Fiji Police Force Director for Community Policing, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)Salanieta Radaniva while closing the week program acknowledged the parents and the community of Wainadoi for assisting and supporting the participants during their stay at the center.
She emphasized the importance of holding on to the life skills and lessons taught within the one week camp.
"The Blue Light program offers mentoring, guidance, support, assisting youths align their focus on their future," said SSP Radaniva.
