MOA Signing with Unit Trust

A Memorandum of Agreement was signed today between the Fiji Police Force and Unit Trust of Fiji with the aim of promoting a culture of saving with members of the institution.

The signing was held today at the Fiji Police Headquarters between the Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu and UTOF Chief Executive Officer Mr Vilash Chand.

The MOA is aimed at promoting personal investment initiatives and financial security for members of the Fiji Police Force.

The Acting Commissioner said it was great to formalize a legal agreement that would empower all members of the institution to save and invest for their future.

“Financial security is very important and I am grateful to see that what was initially discussed within a few minutes is now materializing for the wellbeing of our officers”.

“As leaders we are empowering our officers to save for their future and to save for that rainy day with the focus also on their retirement because one day their job will be gone so it’s best for them to save now”.

Under the MOA the UTOF will develop and implement an investment traiing module for the Fiji Police Academy.

They will also support, implement, coordinate and facilitate training and awareness regarding the scheme through a consultative process with each other.

UTOF CEO Mr Chand said they were happy to be signing on the Fiji Police Force.

“All members of the Force will have the option to join and secure their financial welfare on a voluntary basis and it can be extended to their loved ones and families and the best way to financially empower your children is through investment”.

“There are no conditions attached to your investment as you can decide when to join and when to exit and dividends are all tax free”.
