The Australian Federal Police [AFP] facilitated a virtual Cyber Safety Program [CSP] Digital Training for members of the Fiji Police’s Criminal Investigation Department and the Samoa Police in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre [APNIC] specifically targeting Platforms Internet Fundamentals.
APNIC is a Regional Internet Registry for the Asia Pacific region and their primary role is to provide Internet number resources to their members in the Asia Pacific region.
The basic CSP Digital training program was conducted virtually at the Pacific Cyber Training facility at the Fiji Police Academy and is the fourth to be conducted this year on Internet fundamentals to assist law enforcement officers with the knowledge of tackling the growing threats of cyber-security.
Subjects covered in the course were:
1] Introduction to Internet Protocol [IP]
2] IP address analysis
3] Introduction to the Domain Name System [DNS]
4] Internet Applications on the World Wide Web In line with Fiji's commitment in assisting Pacific law enforcement partners, the virtual training was also extended to the Samoa Police.
