A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Fiji Police Force and Water Authority of Fiji allowing the FPF to build and operate its first-ever communications tower.
The signing was held between the Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu and Water Authority of Fiji CEO Barry Omundson at the FPF headquarters this morning.
The Acting Commissioner said the signing achieved a significant milestone for the FPF as the MOA now paves the way for the institution to have its first-ever Radio Communication Tower at Nakobalevu Ridge since the establishment of the Fiji Police Force.
The tower will also host the Wide Area Network Link for Police CCTV Cameras on proposed locations also giving the FPF the flexibility in installing CCTV cameras for traffic monitoring.
A/CP Tudravu adds it will also provide security coverage for the WAF Water Catchment Areas at Nakobalevu Ridge.
WAF CEO Mr. Omundson said they recognized the efforts pursued by the Fiji Police Force in enhancing its communication capabilities and were glad to assist through the signing of the MOA.
