Fifty One Officers complete training

The three weeks Close Protection Officer (CPO) course was officially closed by the Commissioner Western, Mesake Ledua who emphasized the Fijian Government’s direction in establishing stronger relationships regionally and internationally.

The training is part of an ongoing series of joint operational training facilitated by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces for the Fiji Police Force and it also included five women.

“Fijians have earned a good name in the peacekeeping arena through the hard work of those gone before us and we are duty bound to ensure the shinning legacy is upheld,” said Mr Ledua.

The participants were reminded about the course intent which was to improve the preparation of their team in accordance to the United Nations standard for VIP protection.

“Such is your role as stipulated in our Constitution as the guardian of Fiji and this has not been limited to only providing protection in your country, but to the world as well.”

Mr Ledua thanked the staff of the Blackrock Training Institute for conducting the training in Lololo where members of the community had the opportunity to witness what Fiji had to offer in its ability to deliver professional standard of training.

The Blackrock Training Facility is currently closed under renovations and is expected to re-open mid next year.
