FPF SUPPORTS PINKTOBER

Mrs. Vosita Katonivere a breast cancer survivor said the most important factor in her journey in battling the illness was the support of her family.

Mrs. Katonivere shared the story of her journey at the Fiji Police Force organized PINKTOBER morning tea held in partnership with the Fiji Cancer Society and Medical Services Pacific with the hope of helping members of the Force understand that there is hope even after being diagnosed with cancer.

Originally from Nakavika in Namosi, the mother of three said her world came to a complete standstill when she was diagnosed on the 5th of December 2017.

Mrs. Katonivere said her journey had been challenging but she never gave up knowing she had to fight for the sake of her children and grandchildren.

The Acting Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu praised Mrs. Katonivere for sharing her testimony adding it would encourage women and men to know that there is hope after being diagnosed with cancer.

A/CP Tudravu also handed over a cheque of $1,000 to the Fiji Cancer Society in support of their ongoing efforts towards advocacy, health promotion, and patient support services.
