The Fiji Police Force has extended its appreciation to the executives of the Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM) and the Pacific Faculty of Policing for endorsing another ten study placements for members of the Fiji Police Force.
An invitation to send another ten officers to study with the leading Australian Institution was extended to the Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu by the AIPM’s Director Pacific Faculty of Policing Ms Amanda McCormick during a zoom meeting held this past week from their office based in Manly, Sydney, Australia.
The Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM) is an educational organisation with an extensive history in educating public safety leaders since the early 1960’s.
The institution has been integral in developing police and emergency service leaders and executives with more than 6,500 senior officials from policing, law enforcement, public safety, emergency services and other like-minded organisations attending AIPM courses.
The ten endorsed positions will bring the total number of study placements with AIPM to twenty. Ms McCormick said with COVID-19 impacting travel, they were willing to hold the study positions until borders opened up or look at alternatives of studying on line with the support of the Australian Pacific Training Coalition based in Suva.
The Acting Commissioner thanked the AIPM for assisting with the institutional intent of educating young leaders at internationally renowned institutions such as the AIPM and and assured them of their support.
Discussions also revolved around supporting leadership development requirements in developing young leaders.
