Fiji Day Ops

Policing operations will be beefed up as we head into the weekend.

A busy weekend of activities is anticipated with increased movement within the Divisions and Police are putting in place the necessary operational measures.

As we gear up to the main 50th Independence Anniversary Celebrations on Saturday scheduled for various locations right around the country, we do hope that everyone will take the necessary safety precautions.

We will be deploying more officers as office-based workers will be supplementing frontline efforts throughout the five policing divisions.

We do ask that everyone take ownership of their own safety and that of their loved ones.

Drivers are requested to drive safely and get adequate rest if planning to travel long distances.

Please drive within the speed limits and it is always better to be late than never.

If you’re planning a weekend picnic for your family, we ask that you supervise children closely.

For those of you planning to spend your weekend away from home – we ask that you secure your homes properly, check all fire hazards and turn off appliances not in use, inform your neighbor that your home will be empty and leave a contact and inform your nearest community post and Police Station.

We wish everyone a safe Fiji Day weekend.
