Police graduate from Motor vehicle protective course

Six members of the Fiji Police Force today graduated from the Protective Motor Vehicle Tactics and Technical Procedures Course at the Military Training site at Lololo, Lautoka.

The three weeks training was officially closed by the Fiji Police Force Acting Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu who thanked the 34 participants for their dedication.

Mr Tudravu acknowledged the Training Camp site at Black Rock in Votualevu which is currently being renovated said its reputation of being a regional hub for police in peacekeeping training and pre-deployment preparation.

“Fiji has a proud reputation and standing regionally and for the Fiji Police to be given the opportunity to undertake this United Nations Standard training considering the evolving peacekeeping landscape, is appreciated, said Mr Tudravu.

He said Police are trained to resolve conflict and have recently established footprints in new mission areas as leaders and he wants to ensure officers are well trained and equipped with the necessary knowledge to be able to face any difficult situations.

We look forward to future engagements and training alongside each other not only to enhance our capabilities on the peacekeeping front but enhance engagement in the Pacific region to support humanitarian assistance and disaster response capability.

The Acting Commissioner of Police also took part in tree planting program as part of Government’s renewed effort to continue the fight against climate change and to protect Fiji’s environment.
