Opening of the Green Room at Nakasi PS


Thanks to the support of the New Zealand High Commission, Suva, Fiji, a Green Room to support the Fiji Police Force’s efforts of ensuring a safe space for victims of sexual and gender-based violence, was opened at the Nakasi Police Station.

Opening the Green Room was the Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu, who acknowledged the support of the New Zealand Police under the Fiji Police Partnership Programme (FPPP), in adding value to current investigative processes that safeguards the rights and protection of victims and vulnerable members of the community.

The FPPP is a New Zealand Government supported initiative whereby Senior Advisors are working with the Fiji Police Force, to enhance capacity and capabilities of the Fiji Police Force.

The Nakasi Green Room is aligned to the FPPP thematic area (1) in the Development of Investigative Interviewing Capability.

The other FPPP thematic areas include;

1. Development of General Patrol Dog capability (K9).

2. Asset Recovery Support.

3. Development of Leadership & Governance capability and

4 ?The newly introduced Officer Safety Programme (OSP)?.

Under the Duavata Partnership agreement, the New Zealand Government has committed to expanding practical bilateral and regional cooperation in defence, policing, border security, cyber security, and intelligence through deeper knowledge sharing and more regular exchanges, and shared training and operation.
