The New Zealand Government supported Officer Safety Program (OSP)training was officially closed on Friday 13th June 2025 by the Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP/O) Livai Driu at the Fiji Police Mobile Force in 8 miles Nasinu.
The OSP training is currently being implemented in a few selected Pacific Island countries through the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police, and delivered by the New Zealand Police, providing officers tactical options in responding to a variety of incidents.
ACP Driu thanked the support of the New Zealand Government and NZ Police for the opportunity to boost officer’s capacities in dealing with difficult situations, noting the varying degree of safety threats faced on a daily basis by frontline officers.
The OSP programme, developed in collaboration with the New Zealand Police, focuses on equipping officers with a framework of tactical options when handling difficult situations.
