man arrested for robbery

The Southern Division task force has arrested a man believed to have been involved in a robbery that was captured on CCTV footage, and is the subject of a viral video on social media.

The suspect is alleged to have grabbed the victim’s bag as she was getting off a taxi on Saturday evening outside a shop in Raiwaqa.

The suspect took off with her bag which contained a mobile phone and cash, whereby the victim later reported the matter at the Raiwaqa Police Station.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu said the suspect is being questioned as investigations continue.
