The Fiji Police Force is grateful for another opportunity to send an officer to attend the Indonesian Police Middle Staff and Command Course at the Sespim Staff College in Indonesia.
Inspector Alumita Rokobiau was nominated by the Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew as part of his intent on providing educational opportunities to emerging leaders, and exposing them to various forms of international training with other police jurisdictions.
The Acting Commissioner says IP Rokobiau’s selection is also in accordance with the organisation’s succession planning.
Currently holding the post of Station Officer Nausori, IP Rokobiau who hails from Serea Village in Naitasiri has over 20 years of policing experience.
The course is designed to enhance leadership capabilities among senior police officers, particularly in the area of command and control, management, strategic plan of a police organisation, budgeting, as well as creating a platform for sharing skills, best practices and knowledge to combat the ever-changing threats in future policing.
The former Lomaivuna High and Bhawani Dayal Arya College student says she is looking forward to furthering her education and broadening her knowledge of global policing alongside fellow international law enforcement officers.
The Acting Commissioner met IP Rokobiau last week prior to departing for Tonga to attend the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Annual conference, where he wished her well for the study opportunity.
A/CP Chew said with all overseas policing engagements whether it be meetings, study opportunities or tours, it was important for all representatives to uphold the integrity of the organisation, their families and nation.
IP Rokobiau thanked the Acting Commissioner for having faith in her ability to represent the Fiji Police, and the opportunity to enhance her policing capabilities through the study opportunity.
