Vinaka vakalevu ???? Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police (PICP) for recognising the contribution of women in policing, as two top PICP awards were scooped by women playing leading roles in pacific policing.
Fiji Police Force’s Sergeant Lanieta Navitilevu was awarded the 2024 PICP Chair’s Award in recognition of her leadership and dedication to combatting transnational crime.
Sgt Navitilevu is the Team Leader Pacific Transnational Crime Coordination Centre (PTCCC) in Apia, Samoa, and one of few women holding the post of Team Leader at the PTCCC.
The PTCCC is an arm of the Pacific Transnational Crime Network (PTCN), a mandated program under the PICP to combat transnational crime in the Pacific via a police-led criminal intelligence and investigative capability.
Congratulations also to Tonga Police Chief Inspector Sokopeti Faletau for receiving the 2024 Women’s Advisory Network (WAN) Chair’s Award for her outstanding service in policing to WAN in the Pacific.
Fiji’s Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew who is attending the 51st PICP Annual Conference in Tonga received Sgt Navitilevu’s award on her behalf. ????Sgt Lanieta Navitilevu during the International Women’s Day celebrations earlier in March with her comrades at the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services.
