Fiji Police Wives Annual Inter-formation Tournament

The Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew opened the Fiji Police Wives Annual Inter-formation Tournament in Lautoka? this morning,

enlisting the help of the association members ?to help drive the importance of living a healthy and well-balanced life. The tournament sets the platform for the Annual Ratu Sukuna Wives Tournament where Police will upon the completion of the two-day tournament, pick their Netball and Volleyball teams to take on the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Wives.

With fifteen (15) Police deaths recorded this year and 19 for the previous year, the Acting Commissioner used the opportunity to enlist the help of police wives and mothers to reinforce the importance of health. “As pillars of our family, I ask that you prioritise health.

We have lost too many of our officers this year, many of them leaving young families behind. Many of the deaths were linked to lifestyle diseases, and lifestyle choices.” “No one knows the demands of policing more than you, our families.

Please continue to encourage healthy habits for your families. Everything starts from home - and you hold the key to making those changes for the better?." The acting head of the organisation conveyed his appreciation to their families for supporting the demanding work of policing.

“We thank you for enduring our busy schedules, for putting up with our many trips away from home, for holding the fort at home, often playing the dual role of mum and dad, and for supporting the Fiji Police Force through its good and bad times”.

“We appreciate the sacrifices you have personally made for us. I want you all to enjoy your tournament. It’s your turn to relax, unwind and enjoy yourselves.” The tournament ends tomorrow.
