Policy Writing Workshop in the Northern Division

Twenty (20) Police officers based in the Northern Division underwent a Policy Writing Workshop facilitated by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration.

Coordinated by the Fiji Police Force's International Relations (IR) Unit, the one day workshop was aimed at enhancing the officer’s knowledge of Writing Skills, Source Evaluation, Data/Statistics Literacy and Visual Communication.

Opening the workshop was the Divisional Police Commander North (DPC/N) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kemueli Baledrokadroka who said “For any Policy to be written, it requires raw data which comes from the frontline and the very people sitting before me here this morning are responsible for extracting that data”.

The workshop was facilitated by New Zealand Senior Analyst Emily McCathy based at the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration.

SSP Baledrokadroka went on to say, “The Fiji Police Force work is measured by our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and we need statistics or data provided by you to know where we stand. I hope by the end of this exercise, you are able to achieve the planned outcome of this workshop".
