The College of Policing is bringing its specialised Leadership training to Fiji and is expected to benefit officers at levels of supervisors, middle managers and senior executives.
The final details of the training to be delivered in three cohorts in July were discussed yesterday between Mr Julian Roadnight the UK College of Policing International Policing Adviser, Mr Josh Kemp - Head of UKISF Pacific Programme, Mr Dzoshua Yee - UKISF Pacific Programme Officer and Fiji Police’s Director International Relations, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ulaiasi Ravula, Director Training SSP Serupepeli Neiko, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ulaiasi Tamanisau and ASP Jekope Latu at FPF Headquarters yesterday.
Mr Roadnight said the Leadership Training Programme will be delivered by their trainers who have extensive years of experience in law enforcement.
He added through the College of Policing, the UK in Fiji is committed towards supporting and contributing to policing efforts in Fiji, recognising that criminals know no borders.
Meanwhile Mr Kemp said they would continue to look at mutual areas of interest that the United Kingdom would offer support towards, adding working with the Fiji Police Academy was also part of the training package.
SSP Ravula thanked the delegation for the opportunity to train a large batch of officers adding it augured well with the Acting Commissioner of Police's intent on empowering young leaders under the organisations' succession planning.
The training opportunity is an extension of the UK Government’s support to the Fiji Police Force which have included study opportunities under the International Leadership Programme in London for senior officers recently attended by Divisional Police Commander South, SSP Wate Vocevoce, and many before him with the likes of SSP Neiko, Director Community Policing SSP Salanieta Radaniva and the late SSP Bereta Naisua.
Other forms of assistance have included Specialist Investigative Interviewing Training for the Fiji Police Force, delivered by the College of Policing and supported by UNDP. ????????????????????
