Funeral of Late Inspector Bari


Described as a quiet achiever and a disciplined investigator, members of the Fiji Police Force bid their final farewell to the late Inspector Vilitati Bari in his village in Namuaimada in Ra today.

Leading the Commissioner of Police’s delegation was the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Surend Sami, and he was accompanied by the Director CID SSP Mesake Waqa, Force Chaplain Superintendent of Police (SP) Rev. Waisale Tikowale and senior officers from the Western Division.

The late IP Bari was called to eternal rest on the 5th of December 2021 at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva.

IP Bari was born at the Rakiraki Hospital on the 4th of November 1975 and was the eldest in a family of nine.

During his more than 20 years in service, the late officer was posted at Samabula Police Station, CID Samabula as well as the CID Headquarters and had spent most of his service in the CID as an investigator.

He had completed various courses including the Basic Recruit Course, Constable and CID Qualifying Courses as well as the Sergeant and Inspector Qualifying Courses also part of computer courses, Internet Resource Management Workshop, Investigators Course Level 3, and Drug Workshop and was also part of the Capacity Development on Cyber Policing workshop that was held in South Korea.

He was described as a loyal person, friendly, disciplined Investigator and one who was well known for his dedication and hard work and will be sadly missed by his workmates.

He is survived by his wife Susana Luveni and three children Vilitati Bari Jnr, Adi Sainiana Drua and 7 month old Virisila Taulealea Bari.
