Strict actions will be taken on those who put up hate speeches that could lead to abhorrence amongst members of the community.
The Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu highlighted this following a post that has gone viral on social media and has had its content with words that could incite hatred and fear amongst members of the Public.
‘Many people that are posting, commenting, sharing and supporting such hate posts showed they were not fully aware of what the consequences are and am advising the Public not to be carried away by such information”.
The Head of the Institution is urging the Public to refrain from such action and will not allow this type of hate speech and rhetoric to continue and will investigate those involved in such actions.
“While we are in a situation that needs everyone’s support, the rhetoric will not assist but will make things more difficult as we try to battle the pandemic.”
The Acting Commissioner is urging the public to continue adhering to the Health Restrictions and Orders, stay at home and enjoy with your loved ones.
Let's work together for the betterment of this country.
