A number of senior appointments have been made reflecting the Fiji Police Force’s focus on exposing future leaders who are earmarked to take the organization forward.
The Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said a number of new appointees are officers who are part of the organisation’s succession plan and had been earmarked to take up senior roles.
A/CP Tudravu said a few of the officers had also received training at leading international institutions supported by foreign partners.
“The appointments were made based on merit as well as taking into consideration the future of the orgnisation”.
“These are a few out of the many who we have seen their potential as future leaders and their appointments reflect the trust placed on them to effectively carry out their new roles in accordance with the mission and vision of the organisaiton”.
The new appointments include;
1) Divisional Police Commander (DPC) West SSP Surend Sami takes up his new posting as the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for Policy and Projects.
2) The current Deputy Divisional Police Commander West Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pita Keni has been appointed the new DPC West.
3) Current Officer in Charge(OC) of the Border Police Unit Superintendent of Police (SP) Aisake Kafoa will now take up the Deputy Divisional Police Commander West (DDPC) post
4) Inspector Esira Bari now takes over responsibilities as OC of the Border Police Unit. Other new appointments include;
5) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Salanieta Radaniva takes up her new role as the Director of the Intelligence Bureau
6) Commanding Officer of the Central Division Superintendent of Police Tomasi Bulimaibau takes up his new role as the Divisional Police Commamder (DPC) North after he was confirmed as a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)
7) Senior Superintendent of Police Meli Sateki has been appointed the Director Human Resources Management.
8) Senior Superintendent of Police Mohammed Talib has been confirmed as the Director Internal Affairs
9) Senior Superintendent of Police Filipe Jitoko takes up his former post as the Divisional Police Commander South.
The Acting Commissioner said the reshuffle will also make room for junior officers to rise up the ranks with more opportunities opening up considering the natural attrition rate as well as other issues that impact human resources.
