Fifty-seven of the newly recruited officers earmarked for posting to the Western Division left Nasova this morning not only to boost ongoing COVID-19 operations manpower on the ground but in other policing aspects as well.
The officers formally joined the organization last month and following the passing out parade have been assigned to various Stations and Community Posts in the Western Division.
The Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu maintained that the posting of these officers to the Western Division is necessary noting the immediate need to boost police operations in the Division in our bid to keep people safe from the pandemic in addition to our core police roles and functions.
The Acting Commissioner this morning has reiterated the need for them to be more responsible and maintain the operation momentum on the ground as well as for them to be professional in everything they do.
“Make sure you do your job to the best of your ability, take care of your health, and follow instructions and I don't want to hear anyone breaching the restrictions in place.
Be responsible and professional all the time".
The remaining eighty officers are based at the Fiji Police Academy in Nasova as Strategic Reserves and will be deployed as and when the need arises in other divisions.
