Virtual discussions with international Policing partners was held this past week with the Acting Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu emphasizing the importance of business continuity.
A virtual session was held between the Fiji Police Force and the National Drug & Intel Bureau of the New Zealand Police to discuss issues of common interest amidst challenges brought on by the global pandemic.
Chaired by the Acting Commissioner of Police, in attendance were the Director International Relations SSP Ulaiasi Ravula, Director Narcotics SSP Seru Neiko and the senior Australian Federal Police and New Zealand Police Liaison Officers based in Suva.
A/CP Tudravu stressed the importance of ensuring policing was not affected as policing through the pandemic presented its own set of new challenges.
As most law enforcement organisations play a lead role in containment efforts during the pandemic, the focus continues to be on ensuring that other aspects of policing are not impacted.
He said the complexity of policing challenges confronting law enforcement organizations globally required continuous external engagements with partners so as to learn best practices.
The Acting Commissioner has also thanked the AFP and NZ Police for their continuous support towards the Fiji Police Force.
