The Fiji Police Force continues to acknowledge all efforts and support made so far by every Fijian in ensuring that Health restrictions and Curfew Orders are being adhered to.
We are in a situation where it is imperative for everyone to support the whole of Government approach in tackling the PANDEMIC, and the need to be RESPONSIBLE cannot be stressed enough.
Despite efforts from majority of Fijians to assist the ongoing efforts, there are still a few who are deliberately going against the restrictions and have been caught on the wrong side of the law.
I want to REITERATE my earlier statement.
The Fiji Police will not hesitate to bring people into our custody if they continue to disregard the restrictions put in place by the Ministry of Health.
If we all play our part, we can fight this battle together and kill the virus.
As we continue with these efforts, we are also mindful of other policing operations so as to ensure everyone lives happily and safely in their respective communities.
There are aspects of our operations that we can improve on, however the reality is that we also need support and we urge everyone to assist by being RESPONSIBLE and taking ownership of your safety.
Police cannot be everywhere therefore your support is needed.
We also thank those providing information which have led to successful arrests and I give my assurances that all information received will be kept confidential.
Once again vinaka vakalevu for all your support and assistance during these trying times.
Please adhere to the advisories issued, and in that way, you will make things easier for all frontline workers who are doing their utmost best in fighting this virus.
