Breach of COVID-19 restrictions


Thirty-six people were arrested over the last 24-hours for breaching the Health Restrictions as well as the Curfew orders in place including five juveniles.

Of that number fifteen cases were recorded in the Southern Division, Thirteen cases in the Eastern Division while Eight cases were recorded in the Western Division.

The Central and the Northern Division recorded nil cases.

The fifteen cases recorded in the Southern Division including a 35-year-old man who was arrested for loitering during curfew hours along the Raiwaqa area, five were arrested at Poorva Rd in Makoi for intoxicated as well as four including two juveniles who all were found drinking at Tamavua-i-Wai.

Two cases concerning alcohol were also recorded at Marata village in Wailoku while three people were arrested along the Raiwaqa area for drinking inside the Nasese Bus.

The Western Division recorded eight cases whereby five people were found drinking liquor at Navoci in Nadi while a 33-year-old man was found loitering along Field-40 in Lautoka.

Two cases of breaching the containment zones from Nadi to Lautoka were also recorded.

Thirteen people were arrested in the Eastern Division including ten people who were found playing volleyball at Naikabula settlement in Levuka and amongst those arrested were three juveniles.

Three other cases for the social gathering were recorded at the Davuilevu area.

As we are all gearing up for the lockdown period from tonight within the Suva-Nausori corridor please be reminded not to do unnecessary movement and avoid social gathering.
