Breach of COVID-19 restrictions


Forty-six people were arrested over the last 24-hours for failing to comply with the Health restrictions and the Curfew Orders in place.

The Western Division recorded sixteen cases whereby eleven people of Vatutu in Nadi were found drinking grog including a school teacher while another four cases in Tavua were recorded for similar breaches.

A 22-year-old man was arrested in Lautoka for failing to wear a mask while traveling in a Public Service vehicle.

Nine people were arrested in the Eastern Division including seven people who all were found not wearing a mask while traveling in a Public Service vehicle in Levuka while two cases of loitering during curfew hours were recorded in Nakasi.

The Southern Division recorded nineteen cases.

Six people were found drunk at the Samabula area, two were arrested at Raiwaqa drinking and loitering during curfew hours while five cases were recorded for intoxication at the Delainavesi area.

A seaman was arrested at the Lami area for intoxicated, four others were found drunk along Ratu Dovi road in Nabua while a 20-year-old woman was arrested for crossing the containment zone.

The Northern Division recorded two cases including a 26-year-old farmer who was found drinking during curfew hours while two men in their 30’s were arrested in Lajonia, Labasa for not adhering to the Health restrictions in place.

The Central Division recorded nil cases.
