Community Engagement

As the Batch 1 of 2021 Basic Recruits Course round-up their training before passing out in two weeks, an important component of their training is Community Policing Engagement which was conducted this week at the six villages in Nadi.

The six villages visited were Nawaka, Saunaka, Navoci, Dratabu, Yavusania, and Vatutu.

Apart from community awareness, the recruits helped with activities arranged by the respective Turaga ni Koro’s including members of the community.

Nadi District representative Mr.Isaia Saukuru has acknowledged the institution for giving them a chance to host Batch 1 of 2021 BRC.

“Seeing young people training to become Police Officers has encouraged our youths to pursue a career in law enforcement.

Most of us are dependent on our hotel industries but seeing these young people from Nasova here in Nadi has encouraged many to become Police Officers,” said Mr. Saukuru.

The objective of the engagement was to demonstrate community involvement and the importance of the community to police operations.

The day ended with entertainment from the Fiji Police Band.
