Brawling incident

Police Special Response Unit personnel [PSRU] and officers from within the Southern Division will continue to monitor the situation at Mead Road Housing in Nabua following the brawling incident yesterday.

Chief Operations Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdul Khan has assured that safety and security are a priority and controlling the situation on the ground is paramount at this stage.

ACP Khan this afternoon reiterated the need to take away the mindset of what Mead Rd Housing is well known for in the past and work towards building a better future for those residing in that area is vital.

‘We are not here to fight or to create a problem, NO, we are here to ensure everyone enjoys life and continues to do better for the benefit of young people living in this area.

Mead Rd is not new to us in terms of its criminal landscape in the past however we want to change that.

We want to work with the people living in this area to ensure a better life and we don’t want them to live in fear especially with the little ones” He is reminding members of the public living in this area not to worry about anything and officers will be on standby to assist if in need.

The Chief Operations Officer with other Senior Officers also met with the youth from this area this afternoon.
