Thirty (30) officers from the Sigatoka District are currently attending United States Diplomatic Security Service Training delivered by personnel from the USA Embassy's Overseas Criminal Investigation Division.
The 3 day training commenced yesterday at the Intercontinental Resort, Sigatoka focusing on developing knowledge and skills in travel documentation and detecting illegal transactions across our Border.
Similar trainings have been delivered in Suva, Nadi and Savusavu in anticipation of the influx of visitors once travel restrictions are lifted.
Law enforcement cannot remain idle during this lull in international travel, but continue to provide specific capacity building programs for its officers through supporting international partners such as the USA Embassy's Overseas Criminal Investigation Division.
