Crime prevention efforts between Police and business communities continue to flourish with the management of a major supermarket chain showing their interests in assisting crime prevention efforts.
A meeting was held between the Chief Operations Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abdul Khan and Shop and Save Supermarket’s Director Nisheel Deo Kisun to discuss ways of utilizing available technology to curb criminal activities.
Initial discussions revolved around strengthening networking capabilities with the use of CCTV cameras mounted in and around their supermarket outlets.
“A lot of businesses have CCTV capabilities in busy municipalities and we have made requests for them to be linked up to our Divisional Command Centres for increased coverage”, said ACP Khan.
“The Fiji Police is grateful to the Executives of Shop and Save Supermarket for coming on board as we will be able to strengthen operational capabilities through the use of modern technology”.
