Peacekeeping, Capacity Building Program


Peacekeeping, Capacity Building Program, and the setting up of the Narcotics Bureau top the list of discussion yesterday between the Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu and the US Acting Head of Mission Mr.Antone Greubel.

The Acting Commissioner was accompanied by the Chief of Intelligence, Investigation, and Prosecution ACP Biu Matavou and the Director Internal Affairs Senior Superintendent of Police ( SSP) Ulaiasi Ravula.

The discussion was made following the courtesy call paid by the Acting Commissioner to Mr.Greubel at his office in Tamavua, Suva.

Director International Relations said the two have shared the interesting arrangement that the US government and the Force have in terms of capacity-building programs in the past years and will continue.

This will see the continuation of the training which will be delivered by the US government to benefit Border officers to develop their knowledge and skills on travel documentation and detecting potential illegal transactions across our Border.

Not only that as it also supports staff through a learning experience, thereby achieving effectiveness in a range of policing activities.

The training was conducted in the Central Division, Western Division as well as in the Northern Division. The US Acting Head of Mission Mr. Greubel had also made assured of its commitment in terms of assisting in the establishment of the Narcotics Bureau as well as the support towards peacekeeping efforts for the deployment of peacekeepers.
