Five arrested for Robbery


Five people are in custody for their alleged involvement in an Aggravated Robbery including a juvenile.

The five broke into a vacant house in Lomolomo, Lautoka, and allegedly removed items worth more than $7000.

The items taken include a single and a double door refrigerator, Mini Hi-Fi system, Washing Machine, Flat Screen TV, DVD Player, Microwave, drilling machines, and other appliances.

The house was left vacant on the 25th of December, 2020 and when check was made last Sunday, it was discovered that the house was broken into and the matter was reported to Police.

Quick initial actions by Lautoka Police has resulted in the recovery of all the stolen items a few hours later along with the person who had received them.

Upon investigations, five suspects of the alleged aggravated robbery were arrested last night and are currently being processed at Lautoka Police Station.

Members of the public are advised that receiving stolen items is an offense and anyone found, can be liable for 10 years imprisonment.
