Two Arrested


Two people are in Police Custody after breaking into a shop in Lautoka city last night.

The incident occurred at around 10.30 pm where they broke into the shop but were disturbed by Police patrolling Sugar City.

They entered the shop by using a pinch bar to break through the glass door.

They were apprehended half an hour later after being chased by Police on foot around the Lautoka City area.

The safe that was stolen was successfully recovered by Police early this morning.

Divisional Police Commander West Senior Superintendent of Police Sami Surend said Police presence will remain around Lautoka City and other towns in the division.

SSP Surend said Police will be out there for everyone’s safety and security and has also calling on everyone to respect the curfew hours in place.
