Western New Years thanksgiving Service

The Western Division Police Family took time out yesterday (Wednesday, 30/12/20) to hold their New Year thanksgiving service.

Officers in Charge of Policing Districts (OCPDs) in the Western Division along with the Divisional Police Managers took time out to reflect on the year 2020.

Divisional Police Commander, West (DPC/W) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sami Surend said the year 2020 was indeed challenging for the Division.

“We started the year with the pandemic and we were the first division to be tested with the first case of COVID-19.

We just went through a superstorm but we were fortunate enough that it didn’t affect us as it did in the North,” said SSP Surend.

The Divisional Police Commander said he was fortunate enough to lead a team that showed resilient during times of uncertainty.

SSP Surend thanked everyone present for their contributions and commitment during the year.

“Thank your men for flying the Fiji Police Force flag high during the year and your individual families for their endless support.

We have reached the end of the year and I know we will continue the momentum come 2021.”

DPC/W also wishes to thank members of the Communities, Religious Organizations, and other stakeholders for their support in 2020.
