Two flats destroyed in fire


A two-flat wooden and tin house was fully destroyed by fire in Savusavu on Saturday afternoon.

The fire is alleged to have started from one of the rooms in the first flat.

It was occupied by 28-year-old security and his family while the other flat was occupied by a man, his wife, and their son.

No one was injured.

The house is owned by a businessman of Savusavu and the estimated cost of damages isĀ  around $40,000.

Investigation continues.
