Traffic Operations

Ten drunk drivers were taken into custody yesterday as part of the Christmas Day operations.

Acting Director Traffic Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana says the Western Division had six cases, two cases in the Southern Division and a case each in the Central and Eastern Division.

SSP Divuana says a total of eight hundred and seventy-five vehicles were intercepted while three hundred and thirty-nine were inspected.

He adds one hundred and forty-nine drivers were charged for committing traffic offenses in which speeding and driving without a license continues to be an issue as one hundred and eight drivers were charged.

The alleged drunk drivers will be produced in court in due time.
