Secure for property

Members of the public are urged to secure personal property when moving around the busy city areas.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan said criminal elements would try to take advantage of shoppers during rush hour and the need for people to secure personal property is vital.

He adds that while police had increased visibility in the central business district (CBD), the public must also take necessary precautions.

“Opportunist crimes will be rife over the next few days as major towns and cities will be packed with shoppers so the need for everyone to be cautious and vigilant at all times is paramount.

He also reiterated that some people would be watching those carrying large sums of money or those who had withdrawn large sums of money from ATMs; and that they needed to store money safely when out shopping.

Meanwhile, the Operations Chief would also like to remind drivers to drive with care as roads will be busy during this festive season .

“If you think you are distracted, stressed, fatigued, or unwell and it will affect your judgment while driving, you should not get behind the steering wheel.

Any of these can slow down your reaction time and drive in such a state is unwise.”

Please follow road rules and if you’re drinking DON’T DRIVE.
