As evacuation efforts continue by members of the disciplined forces this afternoon and throughout the night, officers will also be out to monitor unnecessary movement of people during curfew hours which is still in force as per the usual times.

We urge all Fijians to help each other during this time and refrain from moving around unless absolutely necessary, or to call their nearest Command Centers if they need assistance.

Police officers have also been deployed to evacuation centers and will continue to work with the National Disaster Management Office, and we urge everyone to keep listening to the advisories and to only source information from trusted, credible and reliable sources.
