Policing efforts into the seizure of white and green drugs continue to gain momentum as we head into the busy festive season.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu said the aggressive approach in targeting both white and green drugs is consistent hroughout the five policing divisions.
In Vunivau, Labasa yesterday, a 55-year-old man was arrested following the discovery of zip lock plastics containing white substances believed to be methamphetamine.
In Siberia, Labasa, a 52-year old man was arrested with zip lock backs containing white substances believed to be methamphetamine and smoking apparatuses.
ACP Driu said in Raiwaqa, two students aged 15 and 16 years were allegedly found in possession of dried leaves believed to be marijuana at a school.
In another joint raid conducted by the Southern Division task force in Raiwaqa at the home of an alleged suspect of robbery, five people, including the suspect wanted for questioning, were taken into custody following the discovery of large parcels of dried leaves, dried branches and seeds all believed to be marijuana.

ACP Driu said police officers act on information shared by members of the community and intelligence gathered by officers, of the involvement of anyone involved in either white or green drugs. “These illicit drugs are harmful.
Some ome have said for us to focus more on white then green drugs, however, with young lives at stake, we cannot afford to be selective in our approach, and consider all as a threat to our communities."
