AIPM CLOSING

A training with the intent of enhancing leadership capabilities of middle managers was facilitated by the Australian Institute of Police Management’s (AIPM) Pacific Faculty of Policing (PFP) this past week.

As part of the Inspectors Qualifying Course, the Leadership empowerment training specifically targets development designed to encourage participants to look at the challenges faced with a different lens and be aware of their own influence and impact in the workplace.

Closing the training was the Assistant Commissioner of Police – Administration (ACP) Meli Sateki who said the training has provided the tools needed by the emerging leaders to confidently discharge their duties.

ACP Sateki said leaders needed to be frim when making decisions and be able to walk the talk.

He went on to say that as officers are exposed to more trainings, expectations will also rise for improved outputs and improved quality of service.

He acknowledged the AIPM and PFP’s continued support towards Fiji and the region in enhancing leadership capabilities, noting the multi-faceted nature of modern leadership.

The AIPM and PFP leadership program is aligned to the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police’s (PICP) Pacific Police Training Advisory Group Leadership Framework.
